Cheap turbo

As anybody here built there own turbo. It doesn't sound all that difficult. Buy a turbo off turbonetics, an intercooler, and blow off valve then run pipes, right?

Is there any better power add on after cai, tuner, axel back, headers, distributer, plug, heavy spark plug wires?

You will be far better, cheaper and end up with a better overall outcome looks and power wise to get an actual kit and CDT afterwards.. Unless you can do the fab work ie: fitting welding yourself.

What's cdt?

I think it would be pretty easy to get tubes and just relay to a welder how to put them together.

You'll spend some serious money getting a welder to do all the work for you. Probably cheaper to buy a pre-made kit as your car will be torn apart for weeks while every pipe is fitted into place.

As far as your other question....toss the cai, tune, headers, they'll be useless with a turbo kit.

And your car doesn't have a distributor or spark plug wires...therefore no gain there.

Re: Cheap turbo

The screamin demon really doesn't do much for the money - and in fact even with a power adder car they have been found to be not worth getting. The stock coil pack is pretty good to begin with.

Unless you can fab up the turbo yourself, it is more cost efficient to buy a kit ready to go. The one from Powerhouse is really good and a proven kit (put my friend's car into the 11's) and there is one that will be available from Forcedfour.

But you can't just tell the welder "make a hot side for me and then a cold side" for the turbo. Making your own kit means a lot of trial and error to get the piping to fit properly. And you need more than just "a turbo, BOV, and pipes" to do it without blowing up the engine. You need properly sized fuel injectors, the right spark plugs, the right intake and MAF set up, and a good tune.
