I have the pypes. Its loud as hell but just the catback system wont get you the best... if you can I suggest full exhaust and a tuner to change your MAFS and o2 sensors to really pull it all together

The Pypes system i've been looking at is about $550 from AM, but you will also need to get the H-Pipe or X-Pipe which will go about $130. Total, i'm looking at about $680 for the parts. Sadly I'm still saving up for the car itself lol, i hope to have it by the end of the summer. Also depending on where you live, you may want to get new headers or Cat-deletes. I can't touch the cats and if i want headers i have to get special EO approved ones because i live in California, the Automotive hating state.

When you buy the pypes off AM its usually around $500 and comes with the X or H pipe... where are you seeing this?

Pypes Pype-Bomb Super System Catback Exhaust (05-10 Mustang GT) SFM66M - Free Shipping!

You were probably thinking of the one that is a conversion kit... This one is a Catback System designed for the GT but will fit the V6 if you buy the X-Pipe.

Re: good exhaust

Yea i probably should have specified that it is meant for a GT but can fit a V6 with the X-Pipe sold separately. It definitely will be the first upgrade i get when i get my mustang, i want to get it soon cause i just turned 17 last month.

II have also been looking around. Seems that Borla is the best and you can get a dual exhaust conversion kit for a v6 for $900ish. Then again you could get an X or H pipe then throw on 2 flowmaster American thunders and that would be a little over $500

Well if you are only at single exhaust then I would recommend going with the Pypes True Dual Exhaust X-Pipe Kit and then finding a set of mufflers which you like. You should go onto Youtube and just watch video after video of different exhausts people have on their Mustangs... To get your search going here are the names of some exhaust manufacturers: Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Borla, Corsa, SLP, Ford Racing..... The link is the kit.

I used to think Borla was the best also, but i also noticed that there is a lot of popping in their exhaust which i don't like at all, there is not much popping in Magnaflow or Pypes I have noticed.

Find a cheap used gt complete exhaust.have someone weld at the manifolds. And buy a 300 cat back of your choice. That's what I did and it sounds mean. Not to loud at all. Perfect note

The popping could be backfire

True, I have noticed that the louder the exhaust the more popping there usually is, and Borla definitely is on the louder side... Although all the times i have heard Pype Bombs I rarely hear that much popping.

The only problem with single exhaust is that its never as loud and you don't see much gains from it.

And your exhaust might be popping because of the mid pipe or cats. Try and check it out

True but it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Thing that made me choose was its not worth it to dual a 6er cause I'm gonna get a gt soon and that $500 I saved can go towards my gt's exhaust system. But if you got money to blow, get duals.

I bought pypes true dual exhaust thru AM and bought shorty headers from eBay. I have very little popping. For me this is a good set up. The headers I bought on eBay was only $109.00 they are good quality and I had no problems installing them. The exhaust system was straight forward also. I heard a V6 with the new Borla mufflers for the GT and it had by far the closest sound of a V8 I have heard yet. Nice and deep not so raspy.

How much HP and loudness did you gain?

Wish I could tell you but I really don't know on the hp I hope in about 2 weeks all goes well I am going to put it on a dyno. At idle the exhaust is not real loud but you can hear it and when getting in the throttle it's very loud. I am anxious for the dyno run because now I have headers, dual exhaust, cai, and a performance tune. For a V6 it's quick
