if you want to do this, you will have to get a 8.8 rear end because your 7.5 rear end cannot handle the power, you have to get a new transmission, new computer and wiring, new gears, and custom install. this would be an incredibly difficult and expensive but as long as you do everything to be safe and not have your car rip itself apart then you should be ok. oh and youll need a new suspension

More trouble and money than it would be work.I'd spend that money on a supercharged or turbo.would be fun to do the swap tho :p

you hit a wall after just getting those?
headers, custom mid pipe, underdrive pulleys, throttle body, suspension (lowering kits, sway bars, struts, shocks), spark plugs, coil pack, injectors, oil separator, gears, tuner. man theres so much more you can get done before hitting that kind of wall and that doesn't include forced induction (turbo or supercharger)

if you want something like that then get a turbo (though it will only give you more high rpm power) or a supercharger. i would suggest the x charger supercharger from americanmuscle.com it adds 140hp and 120 ft lbs of torque. itll cost you an arm and a leg but itll give you the most power without having to rebuild your rear end.

400 hp from a turbo or supercharger in a v6 can do quite bit cause its lighter. Look up the shelby terlingua mustang.

what vehicle have you driven that has 400hp? cuz until you actually drive something with that much power then you wont know what its like. 400hp is a lot of power, more than enough for someone used to 200 with a v6 mustang. if you want more than that then just trade in for a gt and put a turbo on that or just twin turbo the v6. still 400 is more than you should need

regardless, 400hp is a lot of power, and if the only car youve ever driven consistently is a v6 mustang, your gonna be amazed at the difference

Well, some cobras dyno'd at 390-400ish stock... They were underrated from the factory.

actually as far as the rear end, any power adder you should upgrade to the 8.8. The 7.5 is an open differential so makes it more difficult to put the power to the ground. And if you try to build the 7.5 you will spend as much if not more than it costs to swap the 8.8 instead - and you still have a weak link in the 7.5 (I tried it, spent more to build it than the 8.8 cost me in the end, and still broke it with just a CAI, tune, and a set of drag radials).

With the Xcharger Xtreme I've even broken the spider gears in the 8.8 after running a set of cheater slicks for one race season.

The Xcharger Xtreme on my car - with a very fat and safe tune - is putting over 290 to the rear wheels. I'm waiting for a new tune right now that I expect will push more HP and torque to the rear wheels this season.

I've driven the boss 302 .. the only reason that i don't wNt to just trade it in is because its paid for! SO is it worth dumping loads of money in or should I just get something faster? And have a better foundation
