CDC Shaker System

Has anyone on the forum installed this system on their V6. If so, did they like the outcome?

I've never seen one installed, but the way they are designed looks like they just bring in some colder air as a ram air or cold air extension would do. I figured it might buy 5 rwhp, but really hard to say.

Can anybody clarify this?

Re: CDC Shaker System

It is more of an appearance thing, the performance change is very small. It looks great though. A couple of friends have it on their car, and it does bring some air to the intake, but don't expect it to be an "oh my God" moment after installing.

Re: CDC Shaker System

Thanks for the info. I didn't really expect much from it but i want to dress up the front end of the car without just sticking on a scoop. It will either be a new crowl hood or a shaker most likely.

I have it an I will honestly take it over ANY underhood intake. And the shaker does amazing at hwy speeds (60+. Looks badass, and does the job. Not sure how it would do on a v6 tho.

Re: CDC Shaker System

Yeah that is the part that always worries me. I would hire someone to do it but in the end nobody would check and recheck as much as me haha.

Yeah your better off doing it yourself and the kits pretty damn precise comes with templates and you can also trim the plastic for a better look.

Re: CDC Shaker System

The CDC is great looking, but making the cut in the hood takes some nerve. I started on modifying a new hood back in September and just this weekend finished the cutting.

But I'm doing it a little differently and on a hood that the system wasn't designed for. I am mounting it to the hood itself so that it blows directly on top of my Xcharger, but when I lift the hood the shaker goes up with it so the blower can cool down without the shroud covering it and trapping heat.

Here are some shots of the progress and test fit/mock up. Have to make the mounting plate to attach to the hood yet and the spacer. Then it will be off to paint - still debating on the ghost flames; it will have the superstripe of course.

Re: CDC Shaker System

Thanks, we had to modify the trim ring to fit the "stinger" on the Foose hood. The stock hood is essentially flat so a little trim and heat and it fit up.

That looks great. You should give it ghost flames if you have the time to get it done. You will for sure stand out from all the rest!
