That's illegal in most states. I'd advise you put it back on.

Having no muffler is not illegal, it is only illegal if the sound coming from your exhaust exceeds the decibel limit (it is 95 here in Cali but may vary from state to state)... That is at least the Cali law but knowing that Cali is the most strict on exhaust out of all the states it should be lighter in your state.

idk which state hes from but most states only make it mandatory to have catalytic converters. think about the people who just have straight pipes or muffler deletes (like me). plus police cannot write you a ticket for being over the decibel limit because they do not have a device that determines how loud it is. you would always win in court if they tried to give it to you. my buddy got rear ended in his mustang with a dual exhaust and both of the mufflers were knocked off then run over by another car and he didnt get new ones he just has no axle back and it does sound mean and is legal

Actually in California police can use their "judgement" to determine if the vehicle is too loud without using any device whatsoever even though the limit is around 95db. I think it's pretty messed up here.

Anyone driving around with no mufflers deserves a ticket. Haven't heard any car yet that sounds good with no muffler.

Those are resonators though, they do quiet the sound a little but not nearly as much as actual mufflers.
