Car cover

Hey all, I'm super new. Just bought an '09 v6 back in December. Looking for an awesome car cover. Whats the best car cover out there? I park outside all the time in the california sun.

Thanks!

I've done a bit of research and IMHO Covercraft has the best, Coverking a close second. But there are all different kinds: indoor, outdoor, light, heavy, so it depends on what you want and need. The thicker ones can protect against dings and hail but are far more bulky. My heavy Covercraft folds up into a reasonable-size bag that takes up like a 1/4 of my trunk or so. The thinner ones will lay much flatter and take less space though.

There's one that has a lock on it so no one can steal it or wind blow it off. That's the one I'd get if I had to leave my car outside.

I think most quality covers have grommets for running a lock and you can buy a plastic-sheathed cable and a rubber-encased lock from most places that sell the covers. I bought those first b/c they were cheap to see what they're selling and then maybe upgrade the lock and cable later. The cable should not be keeping the cover on, though. If it is, the cover is crap. Any cover that blows around in wind will kill your paint. If it's really windy, either use gust guards or if that doesn't stop the buffeting, don't use the cover at all that day.

Re: Car cover

I have had several and like the Evolution material the best. One thing for sure though, plan on cleaning the car before each use or any dirt will scratch like the dickens. I dusted and used detail spray on my black SRT8 300 before covering and never had a problem. I actually put the Evolution over an indoor flannel cover for great protection, but I am anal.

that's what the cover is for, to save the paint so you don't have to repaint
