Finally wingless

I have an 05 torch red mustang and my spoiler was so badly sun damaged that it turned pink so I decided to take it off. The bolts were rusted so I had to use a little elbow grease and it bent the metal upwards, so I couldn't get a new spoiler. I loved the wingless look so much that I decided to just get the holes filled and it was a great decision.

How much was it to get the holes filled and painted? I hate my wing! I'm short and it get in the way when I'm looking back. FML. :,(

I paid 340 at maaco and they detailed my car for free! I would highly recommend them the paint matches perfectly

I've heard bad things about Maaco, but they are probably find for that type of job since its not a whole car paint job and just a little part... Looks great, I personally like the look of wings better than wingless, but that's just me.

I've also heard mixed reviews from them online but with my buddies 07 v6 he got the entire car painted for a pretty good price and it looks great too

Re: Finally wingless

A decade and half ago, I bought a '67 Mustang. The seller had just had the paint job done by Maaco before selling it. The paint looked great when I bought it. Within months problems starting popping up with the paint. They didn't even clear all of the rust from the body before re-primering and painting it. And they layered Bondo EXTREMELY thick in some places where they could have just pulled the dent out and then used a thin layer of Bondo. This created multiple problems in several spots on the car.

However; since all you're having done is filling a couple of holes and re-painting a very small patch, they probably can't screw that up too badly.

Remember also, not all employees of Maaco perform the work the same. Some might put more care into your car than others.

You wouldn't have wanted my trunk lid though. The holes were all bent upward and rusted

Just removed the stock spoiler on my '05 and the holes filled. Not going to leave it like that. Bought the CDC ducktail spoiler. Can't wait to stick it on. Cost about $400 to have the holes filled, another $200 to get the spoiler painted. Don't think I would have bought the ducktail if I knew how much it would cost in the end.

Yea. Cervini. Know it. I think it's a new item at AM. I bought the CDC one over Christmas. Hid it in the basement from my wife until this past week. I'll just have to wait a bit longer now before my next upgrade.

Re: Finally wingless

Very nice! I have a '07 Torch Red convertible that never came with a wing, I added a back, reflective stripe on the truck that looks stock and actually looks better than a wing (I think)!
