Spinning tires

I have another problem that has stressed the hell out of me.

I was working on my car, disconnected the battery. Plugged it back up, went out that night... My tires wouldn't spin! Before I unhooked the battery, they'd spin anywhere whenever I did it, but now they won't spin at all. That's super frustrating.

I'm not an expert but it sounds like your traction control is engaged. It probably wasn't at first and then you disconnected the battery and connected it so it reset back to normal. That's just my guess.

So what should I do? I've unplugged the battery again and everything else

Re: Spinning tires

You probably did have traction control turned off and then when you took the battery out it went back to the way it was before (on). Put the batter back in and try turning off traction control.

Just put of curiosity, where is traction control? I have an 07 pony package and never had issue with a burnout but buddy at work has same year, same tranny but can't light them up around a wet corner, uphill in gravel to save his life.

The button "tcs" is it. When you push it and it lights up, he should be able to

The TCS could've been turned off through a tune that was erased when the ECU reset via disconnecting the battery. Meh.

For that year, with a V6, only the Premium Package gives you the TCS button, I believe that's correct. All GTs have them.

In this case, could be he has a different final drive ratio than you do. Example, you might have 3.27 and he may have 2.73.

Possible. I haven't done any mods other than true duals to my car and really haven't looked into exactly what I have in the rear. Just keep it clean, gas it up, change the oil and filters, and keep air in the tires. My money is going to my ground up 66 Mustang Coupe build.
But it still gives me something to give him crap about in good fun.

That's posibly true, My car orignally came with 3.31 Gears, which I changed to 4.10 Gears. So that could make a big difference i his car.
