Hood Scoop to hide Shaker Scoop

Is there a hood scoop availible that is large enough to conceal the CDC shaker hood scoop system? I just don't care for the looks, just the slight performance gain

Re: Hood Scoop to hide Shaker Scoop

If you don't care for the looks don't get the shaker - there isn't really any performance gain, it is more a "looks" modification.

And spending $700+ for the shaker with the intent to cover it up really doesn't make any economic sense. You will get much more with just a tune than you will ever see from the shaker.

+11. There is no real performance gain from the Shaker system!.. It is basically a fancy fender mount CAI!.. As both will net you the same gains!..

I know all that, I just want the underhood dressup and coupled with a cai and tune it could give an extra 10hp at 60mph...just do you know of a large enough hood scoop?

Re: Hood Scoop to hide Shaker Scoop

But you can get the "extra 10 hp" with just the CAI and tune. Buying the shaker just to cover it up is a lot of cash to spend to make it "look pretty" under the hood.

But it is your car and your money.

Check for the "429" hood scoop, they used to sell it at MRT (mrt-direct.com). It is a bigger scoop and might be big enough to cover the shaker. It is probably the only stick on scoop that will be big enough, and you can leave the front open (most of the stick on hood scoops are not functional, which means the air flow to the shaker would be cut off anyway)
