| Water leaking in under passenger side dash
I noticed today when I got in my car while it was raining that my passenger side floorboard was soaked and I saw that there was water dripping down underneath the dash. Does anyone know what it is? I'm gonna take it to the dealership tomorrow but I really don't want to cause the last two times I went there the wrecked it and blamed it on me so I don't want that to happen again. If it helps I THINK my dad said it looks like it is leaking from a box when he pulled down the glove box, if I heard him right.

I never really found what it was

My dad thinks the drain is stopped up so he is going to clean/blow it out today. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Dealership wanted $130 just to even hook up a machine to the car to see what's wrong.

My dad told me the same thing, I'm who glad I listened to him....mine was full of leaves.... ---------- Post added at 06:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:59 PM ---------- It would lock up my windows , stereo, ac, and I couldn't even put it into gear . I had to wait like 20 min after a bad rain storm.... I was ready to turn it in for another one but the upside down was going to screw me on the payments

That would happen to my eclipse every summer because I run the a/c during our great heat-waves hahahahaha. The line gets clogged up. They make it hard to fix it yourself so they can charge outrageous prices to fix

I'm sure you can find a how-to online. For my eclipse I had to take out the dash and the fire wall to get to the drain line
Ok I just did a quick search online and found some links to other forums of people doing this. I'm not going to post the links but it can be done.

Don't want to scare anyone but there are grommets in the firewall on 05 thru 07 mustangs (all models) that are defective. Ford knows about it but won't recall it and fix the problem. The water comes in on the passanger side by the kick panel. This is also where the air bag relay panel is. How do I know this? It just cost me $1500.00 bucks just to fix the air bag stuff! The water fried the panel and relay and I am growing mold inside the dash and under the carpet. My insurance won't cover it because of the TSB. If you can, take off the plastic cowl as if you were going to change the cabin filter and look for oval rubber grommets all along the fire wall. These are the problem. If you get some 3M rubber sealent, you can run a bead around all of them and save yourself a lot of problems. ---------- Post added at 12:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:54 AM ---------- Sorry, Forgot to add the link to the TSB http://www.stangnet.com/images/stori...s/07-14-06.pdf |

I have a 2008. And my dad fixed it by taking that oval rubber piece out and cleaning the leaves out if it and no problems since and took less that 5mins to fix. |

I wish I had been so lucky. Just keep an eye open and let him know if you hear sloshing sounds, smell mold or the passanger side rug gets damp after a heavy rain. Believe me, a $7.00 tube of adhesive and an hour or two of prevention is well worth it. Chasing after electrical problems caused by water gets expensive.
