Transmission casing

When I have my car for servicing last time, they said there was a leak in the casing but very small. They said I'd have to get it taken care of at some point. Should I go back to them or can we open it and see by ourselves?

Go some where else, its probably a $5 gasket some where, or their just trying to steal your money
