Not sure if you know this but the 05s main "flaw" is the elecrical system. I've had multipul electrical problems with my 05. one of these electrical flaws does involve the shaker audio system (500,1000). Mine has not randomly turned on but it does randomly restart songs, or says that I have a bad disk when the disk is clean (no scratches) and sometimes the whole shaker will freeze up on you and its a pain in the *** to turn it off/on. I purchased a 2 year electrical warrenty on my car and that covers basically anything electrical including the computer and the engine (had the Check Engine Light (CEL) go on for no reason mutipul times and had to reset my car). I'd advise you to purchase a warrenty if you got your car from a new/used dealership if you still have the chance. but anyways, best thing to do is just upgrade to a touch screen. I've heard the kenwoods that they used to offer in a package upgread worked great (I'm upgrading to a kenwood touch screen soon). Hope this helped you
