What kind of gains would I get with a k&n cai without a tune?

Re: Cai

Maybe 2HP, Most K&N gains are at the very top of the rpm range. You will never feel it.

Thanks my friend thinks its a huge gain but I didn't think it would be that great without a tune.

That's what I thought do you have to buy a tuner or can you get it tuned at a shop or somewhere.

You can go to a dyno shop, and they can tune it, but your probably looking at 400 to 500 dollars, and then everytime u add performance gains they charge u about 100.00 to tune it . At least thats what it is around my area your better off getting a tuner from american muscle for about 379.00 and you get free tunes for life

Saucywalnuts,

Power gains with just a CAI on a 4.0L v6 are minimum, but I wouldn't say they're not noticeable. Now paired with a Bama tune, you can see some incredible overall power gains. On our '05 v6 we made gains of 20+ rwhp and 30+ rwtq within the power band. Now that's definitely noticeable!

We even carry CAI/Bama tune packages that come with one of our top of the line CAI's and a Bama SF3 tuner. Along with that, this package enrolls you in our Free Tunes for Life program, so if you upgrade to any new bolt-on performance parts we can adjust your tune accordingly, for free!

JLT makes a killer CAI, especially paired with a Bama tune. Check out our 4.0L v6 Project car on the dyno!
