4.6L

A guy wants to sell me a v8 4.6L off of a 2006 mustang Gt with 80k miles. for the computer, tranny, and motor he is asking 2500. I have a 2006 v6 and my question is, will everything fit and line up exactly? What else will I need to buy and how much it will cost to take out the v6 and put in the new one.

I contemplated doing this to my '06 v6 but after doing research determined that it's not worth it. There's a lot more entailed than you think.

Re: 4.6L

If you go to The Mustang Collective Forums - Powered by vBulletin there are lots of guys who have done the swap, and there is a write up on everything it takes to finish the job. From pulling the 4.0 to dropping the V8 and transmission in place.

Re: 4.6L

If you want to put a V8 in your car, your best bet is to sell your car and buy a GT. You will save lots of time and money that way.... Or you could take the motor and swap it into your lawnmower, talk about cutting down the time it takes to mow your lawn lol.
