5.0 motor

Ok so I asked about buying a 4.6L motor computer and tranny for 2500 and a lot of people said id be better off buying a gt. well today at work a guy said he'd sell me his 5.0 HO motor tranny and computer for 2400. I didn't get a chance to ask him what year or how many miles but I think it's off a 90s body. Would it be worth buying it?

+1
And motor swaps always cost a bunch of $$. So unless you absolutely 100% want it, i wouldn't recommend it.

I just want my car to be a v8 eater. Look just like a v6 and kill them. I can beat pre 2006 v8s with exhaust tune and cai but after 2006 I can't keep up

Personally, I say spend a little extra cash and go FI.
I know people hate hearing that over and over but it's only true.
Try on3performance.com and look at some of their turbo kits, some kits as low as 2k and run very well.
If you want a supercharger, I suggest American muscle but that will run you 3.5-4k

The only way you could walk a s197 GT would be with the xcharger extreme supercharger and it's like 7k before install

forced induction. by the way a 90s 5.0 is not gonna keep up with any new 5.0 without being fully built.

Please tell me what mods you have that makes you think your car is FASTER than a pre06gt. First of all 05-10 gt's all have the same long block. Some have different exhaust, different gears, or may even come with a cold air intake but that's it.

woops misstype there. only a fully built 5.0 from 90s would outrun a new 5.0. the new 5.0s are super strong from factory.
