Maybe it's for the alarm system if you have one installed or was installed before?!

It was there when I bought the car. An it doesn't do anything when I press it but it's connected to a bunch of wires. Could it be the factory remote start I have.

It looks like an after market button not a factory, that's why I believe it's for an alarm system that was installed before and they took it off.
Wait for the other responds maybe the other guys have an idea about it.

Re: Anyone know what this button does?

It's something after market and not stock.

Can you trace the wires at all?

I have the same button on my 97, time for my google skills to kick in.

I found out that for the sn95 it is in the trunk by the left tail light, wasn't able to find anything for 05+. But mine has the button up front WTH I'm so confused.
I also didn't get a remote with my car, but it has power lock switch inside that doesn't work. Hmmm

Looking at the pics of your car, I would assume that the previous owners might have put an Alarm on it, and taken the Alarm off when they traded. Find any Alarm Shop, near you and ask the guys there, if those wires look as if they might have gone to a Alarm System. They should be able to tell if one had been hooked up in there.

Could very well be a kill switch. Something that you'd have to push first to start the car. Anti-theft.
