My new 2006 v6

O I've been on this forum a while and have had a 1998 ford mustang v6. I have sold the car and replaced it with a 2006 Ford Mustang V6 premium with the pony package. It has about 123,000 miles on it. It also has an auto tranny and the pedestal spoiler. The only upgrade so far is the American thunder back exhaust for one side. I do however plan to lower it and put a cai on as well as eventually getting a tune. I also plan on putting window louvers. Any thoughts are welcome.

Re: My new 2006 v6

Best performance upgrade is a CAI and tune. Don't bother with a "no tune required" CAI. They are simply a lot of money to "look pretty" under the hood. The real performance change is the tune.

Ya and without the tune your check engine light comes on, even though they say it dosent.

Go to american muscle and they have pre painted louvers for about $200, a little pricy but to have it painted it comes out about the same.

CAI/tune package is definitely best. You will not be disappointed and probably best to get them both at the same time.

Also check out those $200 louver's from AM, I was reluctant at first but I'm very happy with the way they turned out.

Re: My new 2006 v6

Hey i have a 2005 v6, I want to put on a CAI/tune package on but am also looking at getting a trufiber hood that has a functional ram air in it. Will that hood work with a CAI in it as well?

Re: My new 2006 v6

Good choice on the Flowmaster ATs. I got one on a single exhaust and it sounds throaty as hell! for the side louvers, I personally would go with these SHR Mustang Flush-Mount Quarter Window Louvers - Unpainted (05-09) S197-300 - Free Shipping!
you can see a lot more with those louvers plus you might think that that small area that would be covered by the non flush lovers is not a big deal but trust me, that little space thats covered can make a big difference visually for you to see other cars while your driving.

Yeah I get a kick out of starting my car up everyday before I head out to school. Huge difference from stock to after market.
