Dual exhaust installation

I am thinking about putting the magna flow dual cat back exhaust system on my 09 v6 mustang. if I installed that would I need to get a new back bumper to fit it?

Re: Dual exhaust installation

You don't need to get a new bumper if you don't want to. There is a template you can find online for a cutout on the left side of the bumper. If you look at where the tail pipe sticks out on the right side you will notice that it is a cut out, you can do the same to the other side (And it actually looks pretty good might I add). You can either do it yourself or get it done professionally... Or you can just get a GT or GT/CS bumper.

It isn't noticeable if you cut it unless you mess up badly.

Re: Dual exhaust installation

Seems like it was only $150. It was prepainted, as it come off a 05-09 GT from a Ford dealer when the car was customized into a Roush or Saleen or whatever. Hope it helps!

Re: Dual exhaust installation

I actually preferred the look of the cut bumper on my 2006 and the only reason I changed was because it was cheaper to swap bumpers myself (bought a new take off for $50) than it was to have a new V6 bumper cut and painted - and then I could use the money from the guy who rear ended me to do additional paint work on the striping.

Go to Pypes Performance Exhaust - Home Page and you can download a template for cutting the bumper. It is easy to cut, soft rubber, with nothing behind it that you can damage. Make sure you set your printer to "full size" or your template will be off.
