Head Lights

What is the difference between the pony package headlight housing and a base housing?

The reason I ask is I have a black that comes down and covers my bulb. I recently bought new housings and the new housing doesn't have the black thing.

It's just a difference in years. It should fit. The only thing I've seen about em is if you have HIDs there will be a bad glare with the new lenses that don't have the black piece

That would explain it! The new ones were from an 07. I guess I'll resell them.

Good question. It seems like it would take more to change.

* cost more.

Do you have HIDs? & as far as changing them, I assume they're better with regular halogen headlights

Yes I got HIDs now. But I think your right it would seem that the regular halogen bulbs would work better w/o the black thing there.
