It looks nice, but...

... isn't the entire point of carbon fiber to save weight? If that's true, and you're just adding it over the pre-existing materials, wouldn't that just be an addition of weight?

I realize that increasingly the use of carbon fiber is two-fold; weight savings AND appearance. Anyway, what's the total weight of carbon fiber you've employed? A few pounds at best?

The carbon fiber wasn't for performance, it was for design. having a murdered mustang , black kinda gets dull after a while, I employed carbon fiber, matte black, glass black, satin, suede and cloth to add texture.

If I wanted weight reduction, I wouldn't have a dash sweetheart as a daily driver, comfort, quality and design are what I employ in the overall appearance. For building, racing and luxury sport I would use real base fiber. As a college student on a tight budget I can't afford 3k in parts for a decent dash. I considered pouring resin or holographic resin over the vinyl but I just haven't decided on it yet, plus that's a lot of sanding :/ the overall weight isn't even a pound added, after all that isn't my concern as design is.

I think it was for looks but you never know. If she wanted to save weight she would of replaced the whole body with carbon fiber witch is a ton of $ and idk if even that's possable on a mustang..... Would be cool though

Yup. Fair enough.

I really wasn't trying to rag on you. Honestly. I'm all in favor of customization touches, even if other people don't love it, so long as you (the owner, creator, sexy sex woman) do.

And this is just me, so take no offense, but; I've always had it in my head that carbon fiber is all about lightness, flex and strength. As such, when faux-carbon elements started appearing in supposedly 'performance' range cars, I kind of checked out in terms of its aesthetic appeal.

That said, if I sat in your passenger seat, I'd still be running my fingers over your CF trim pieces.

Ahahaha I understand, carbon fiber itself can be made without the design (and in different weaves) the actual print itself is used for aesthetics (yadda yadda) think it like this, leopard print was originally used on leopards (haaa ) a sign of strength and prowess, now it's splashed all over women's clothes, furniture hair styles whatever, get what I'm saying righhhhttt? Or no maybe I'm just crazy.. Either way. I like it

Every time I get in Jet I still run my fingers over it, it feels so good! Love the texture

They even started making guns out of it now. Anyone got an extra 20g laying around to spare? All donations go straight to my wallet for purely ENTERTAINMENT purposes.

That leopard print analogy was priceless. You've totally won the internets by virtue of that comment alone.

And even if it isn't lighter, it's way hotter. I think it looks pretty damn good and, knowing as I do the perils of working with resins, I have crazy respect for your girl-awesome abilities to girl-make those accents, girl.

Also... girls in Mustangs. That's ALWAYS a good thing.
