Pony Badge

I am curious.

I have a stock V6 and was wondering; if I remove the pony badge from the front grill, will it be flush and clean or is there a mounting divot behind the badge I need to worry about?

I will be ordering a black, no badge billet grill from AM but was thinking that until then I could achieve a similar look by stripping the pony badge.

Tips?

When I was driving back home from school when I got home I notice that my front pony badge from the grill was missing but there was no mounting divot it was all clean like is was ready for a new badge to be place.

Cool!

In that case, anyone have any tips for removing the badge? Fastline? Oven cleaner? A crowbar?!

its really pretty simple. theres like 6 or 7 tabs that are on the plastic radiator cover that you can use a flat head screw driver to get out then behind the grille you will find about 6 or 7 tabs holding the grille in. on mine i just gave them a few good yanks and i might have used the flathead to get them out as well.

I try lol. I was the same way removing stuff. I filled in the place where the pony was with fiberglass resin & painted it black.

I'm fairly sure I'll wait til I can order my black billet grill (both pieces) anyway. But it's good to know because, well, I get impatient.

Same here. I wanted fog lights so bad that I just bought a cheap *** set off of eBay. They burned up in a couple months. Luckily didn't ruin anything. I just waited after that & upgraded to a GT front bumper & a Bullitt grille

Well, I think it looks much better as is. I'm going for the same look. While I do like the fogs, I don't want them as they'll ruin the image I'm going for... sort of a murdered out Bullitt thing.

Which is another question...

If I do a wing delete, how much work is it to fill and flush the holes? I don't want to repaint the whole car...

i wanted multiple things done when i had my car painted. shaved faux gas cap, shaved spoiler holes, painted hood, rest of car, rocker mouldings, mirrors. i just went ahead and did it all. alot of people just remove the spoiler and go to the store and buy small plastic plugs that sit pretty flush. they use rubber rtv to seal it up. yours being black they would stick out much. thats what i wouldve done had i not wanted to get it painted
