Haha I know right!! If only I had the extra $250 for the gt bumper when I got mine fixed!!

I know it always comes at the time you're strapped for cash!

Ok y'all I think I've decided unless I magically hit the lottery, I don't play, I'm going the V6 Bumper.

But the catch,

1) Remove tan rocker stripes something I've wanted to do from day 1.

2) dye top black

3) add a solid center stripe Color TBD in the future

4) hood pins

I'm still out on the smoked lights.

---------- Post added at 11:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:25 AM ----------

Between that and the money I save on the hood I can get some PDR

I really hope so!!

The headache is now here. Ford dealer says, they have to try and straighten the hood out and he would just paint the affected area? To me this poses several issues.

The insurance co isn't willing to repaint the other fender if they feel the hood can be fixed which is pissing me off. So it's all going to be mismatched, if you ask me.

The dealer is ****ing up! The paint tune they'd get for painting a new hood would be more then repairing your old one. What a waste.

According to the dealer it is State Farm that say's the hood need's to salavaged, if possible. Since they are a State Farm approved shop they pretty much have to follow orders.

I for one will not be happy if they decide to go that route. He's not sure if the hood will look right with the new fender. They want 2600 to install and paint the fender, fix the hood, replace the bumper, and the headlight housing. Not both just one. I'm also going complain about that. I'm a nice guy until you start screwing me.

Were talking a differnce of maybe a $1,000.

The shop was supposed to call me yesterday when they put on the new fender, but no call. I didn't feel like messing with it today, since I had a bunch of accounting work to do. Rest assured I am going to take a drive up there tomorrow.

UPDATE!!!

Well I'm tired of this repair headache, and my younger brother (Chrysler-sales consultant) nagging me about driving a Ford. So, we ran some numbers.

We figured out that now, I'll have a Cobra R Hood! I think in the process, I saved State Farm some money. I thought you might like the twist!

Anyone want to play the guessing game as to when it might be done?

I'll send a fancy ME bottle opener out to anyone that guesses the correct date and whoever picks the closest time of when they will call and say, "it's done!"

Details:

I bought the hood direct from Cervinis in NJ since AM didn't have them in stock. Yes I called AM and the guy said not until January.

Anyway, UPS says delivery should be Wednesday the 28th, so it won't be done before then.

Only the top of hood will need to be painted since it is primed and gloss black underneath.

They will have to repaint the RH fender to blend it I'm assuming they will do that on the car.

I'm assuming they painted the bumper and LH fender off the car

I should've expected it. This dealership took 3 days to fix my Moms A/C, Mount & Balance 4 tires, and change the oil.

She is done! I noticed a few areas on the hood I'm not happy with. Overall they did an excellent job of blending the paint.
