Clutch and Trans Troubles

I have a 2005 5 speed manual (V6). The clutch just starting being extremely spongy ever since last night. It first felt spongy after I started it and hear a huge bang or crack sound. I tried pulling forward and it wouldn't get going, not even a simple roll until my foot was almost completely off of the clutch. Later that same day I went on to the freeway, when I tried giving it more gas to get up to speed it sounded like it was in neutral, kinda like if the clutch was still in, no grinding sounds, it would go into gear fine. Anyone know what it could be?
