if you like the matte look...VHT them lightly so you can see light..then hit them with a matte clear to dull them

definately bad then...if they are that way at night i know during the day nobody will see your tails till it's too late...and lets be honest an all black car will eventually be forgotten in their vision...i'd peel it and consider another tinting method

good idea though

Looks perfect. If someone hits you they can't prove they couldn't see. Keep it how you like it

that's horrible advice...the police report will reflect that the tails are like that. Before you say it won't i've seen it before. Normally the person that rears the other is at fault. However due to his tails he was found at fault due to the other driver not being able to see him brake before it was too late. OP has a clean car, and i'd prefer to see it that way for a long time

OP do what you want in the end it's your car and you have to deal with anything that may happen. maybe think about the light coat of vht with a matte clear. it won't be as dark as what the plastidip is but it'll be that dull look at least but visible to others

keep us updated with anything you do man

you can sand vht off easily enough...just some elbow grease and a few grits to get down to the smooth read oem look. another idea that might work is to buy a tail light tint or cover and spray them with matte clear before install...so they can come off easy and not be shiny

take AMs covers for example..they are really dark, but you can see light even during the day no issues...maybe a matte clear if you like the dull look over gloss.

granted even with covers you'd be at fault in a rear ending, but at least you have a fighting chance since they'll be able to see your lights lol

I don't mind a kind tint in tail lights but ill never understand this level of blackout. Get a black housing with clear tails and Red leds if you must but don't sacrifice safety for it...

The obvious answer is peel off the plastidip before the cops show up
