Turbo VS. supercharger VS. a GT

I just got about $7000 saved up from just getting back from deployment. I have an '05 v6 and it doesnt have nearly enough power. With a cai and tune i got about 260 hp but i gotta have more! Would a turbo or supercharger get me more power? I was also thinking about just selling this and getting a 05-09 GT that has about 300 stock so i would have alot more room for hp. Not sure what option would be more money wise. Any suggestions?

Get a 5.0. You can get a uses 11 for a decent price. Don't waste time with the 3v

I really enjoyed my 2006 4.0 with the Xcharger Xtreme. Not the biggest power on the dyno, but the car ran mid 12's with the heavy convertible and roll bar.

It was always fun to beat the Camaros - especially the guy who's buddy called out as we lined up "no problem, it's just a V6". Treed him and he couldn't run the Xcharger down; for some reason they didn't want to talk in the pits afterwards.

That would be with the right buyer. It's a v6 isn't it? You should be able to get 12 I would think.

I'd go with a powerhouse411.com turbo. From what I saw it looks like it gets good numbers and is not too expensive. You'll have a v6 title for insurance, better fuel economy, and more power than a bone stock or lightly modified gt that's IF their numbers are accurate. The claim to run mid 11's on the 1/4th. That with a set of forged internals I think you'll have a lot of fun jus my opinion

Yeah build the motor for durability and get ya an aluminum driveshaft and 8.8" rear end and you're bullet proof!

If you love your stang then you will put the money and work into it instead of just buying a new one

Personally I would rather build your v6, cause seeing the faces on gt and camaro guys when you beat them is priceless! Or sell the six, get a new 5.0 and build that! That would be awesome

A new Ford Racing 5.0 motor costs less than $7,000 and you would have change left over for the install.
