Limited slip

Does anyone know where I could get a limited slip differential on the cheaper side? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

You may be better off finding a junked GT and ripping off the 8.8 rear end. LSD is expensive and on top of that, if you're tearing through the rear end you might as well change gear ratios. I haven't upgraded my rear end because I'm waiting to return to the states and find a GT rear end. You can get one from a junkyard for cheaper than a new LSD for the 7.5.

Is that a direct bolt up to the v6?

Yep. A GT from 2005 to 2010 will fit on your S197. Direct bolt in.

Cheaper in the long run to just swap to an 8.8. If the rear end comes from a 2005-10 then you need to change the pinion flange to mate up to the V6 driveshaft but other than that it is a direct swap.

If you can find a 2011+ rear end, it is a direct swap and should have the correct flange for the 2005-10 V6 driveshaft already.

Don't you need a cobra flange also?

Yes, as I said right above you - 2005-10 you need the flange.

But if you get a rear end from a 2011+ then there is no flange swap needed and it is a direct bolt in.

AM has 8.8 fully built with option for flange direct swap for 7.5 to 8.8 if any serious mods intended for future.
