A true push to start?

•Is it possible

•How would I get a key for it

•How much would it cost

•Could I grab one out of another car?
Thanks!

Well you could have it wired in like a remote start there's a lot of push button starts but you still have to put your key in to activate it..

So I would have to put the key in the ignition? Is there a way I could have the key in car but not ignition?

That would take a lot of programming and different thing as that's built in new vehicles but I'm sure there's a way just be ready to fork out money..

did you check out AM push start product? you would have to have the key in the ignition and turn it to on, then you can push the button (which you can install in the cigarette lighter) to start the car.

If you still have to put the key in and turn it to on, then why bother with the button? Just sayin'.

U can wire them up so that u don't need a key in the ignition if u would do that I would definitely put a kill switch in incase someone got in they could just start ur car and take off with no key

Modern push start cars require the key fob to be within a certain proximity to the car. Our mustangs don't have that sensor installed so it lacks that safety measure and will still require the physical connection with the transponder to start the car

Just my opinion, but a guy brought in his 12 5.0 with the push to start button from AM in the other day.... Looks cheesy and yes you still have to have the key in the ignition. Which sorta of defeats the purpose as previously stated. While it would be a cool aesthetic and many cars have been doing it for awhile now like the corvettes. Your money would be better spent on other mods. Not sure how much a key would cost if you could even get one. However, if the factory key is any indication expect to pay anywhere between $200-500 for the key and programming it to the vehicle alone. Let us know if you find a kit I would be interested to see what's out there.

You can do it three ways you can just install it and have to turn your key to on and then push it, you can take your spare key and have it installed in behind your dash so all you have to do is push when you get in but with no kill switch anyone who broke in could start the car, and lastly you can have it wired with an alarm so no one could start it, I'd suggest the last way it's the route I'm going next weekend or the one after my buddy is doing it all for me. I got the gt500 push start from American muscle
