Pony package?

Ok so I'm trying to figure out I have a 2006 mustang pony package what's the difference with the pony package about the only thing I know so far is my suspension is from the gt plus I have front and rear sway bars and I have traction control and I have the ford my color for the dash is there anything else I'm missing? Someone tried to tell me that the pony packages came with the 8.8 rear end but that sounded like bs to me...

Sounds like you do have the pony package. They have the 7.5 rear end and 3.31 gears, upgradable via the aftermarket if you like.

I have an 07 with the pony package which I purchased new. Besides what you indicated, the pony package has the upgraded interior, 17" wheels with performance tires, spoiler and side stripes. I'll pull my window sticker and let you know if we're missing something

All 2005-10 Mustangs with the 4.0 were built with the 7.5" rear end and 3.31 gears so you are correct. There wasn't any other option from the factory. But the base didn't come with a sway bar.

I'm not sure what you mean about an old style grill. Do you mean in respect to the the S197 pony grill looks like 68 GT grill with the fog lights?

Ford has made it easy to find out what was on your car or truck the day it left the factory.
Just put your VIN number at the end of this link.

http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...icker.pdf?vin=

Do NOT add a space after the equal sign. Just type in your VIN.
I'm not sure how far back you can go, but it works on 2005 and later.
My first post. I hope I did this right.

Visually the pony package has the fender badges, the classic pony grille with fog lights, a rear spoiler, some floor mats with mustang badge on the side, a "MUSTANG" stripe and 17" wheels with 225.
Performance wise, they added a rear sway bar (18mm) and a bigger front one (31mm) but not as big as the GT's. there are the base springs but the GT shock absorbers.
Also, the pony package came with the premium package too.
I'm converting mine into a pony package so i know it inside out.

The tires were the same as on the GT Pirelli pZero Nero in 235 - 55x17.

Depending upon the year and build date the suspension could have been all GT with the GT sway bars. Most 2006 pony packages (first year) were built with all GT suspension and later different sway bars were frequently used. The 2006 also was fully loaded with things that became options in following years

Sorry, yes, the tires were 235. About the sway bars, i know for sure that they were 31 with 18 from the beginning while the GT had 34 with 20 as far as i can remember.

No the pony package didn't have the base springs, they are slightly stiffer then the base ones

Nope, only the shocks are slightly stiffer. Springs are the base ones. I went to a dealership because i wanted to convert mine as much as possible to a pony package version and it was basic knowledge to them that they were the base ones. Also they had the same S/N.
