Rear axle

I just found a 99-2004 mustang gt rear end on CL, and from what I understand it is 28 spline, and so is the rear 7.5 on the v6 mustangs from 2005-2010?

Would that make this a direct bolt up? And also do the older 8.8 rears (99-04) have traction lock (posi trac)?

I don't think any axle before 2005 will bolt up to the s197 platform because the prior axles had a 5 point connection and the s197's have a 4 point

Fox and SN chassis cars have springs that mount on the lower control arms, whereas your S197 have the springs on top of the axle housing itself, there will be no spring perch for you to use even if it did fit.
