I found a 8.8 out of an 07 gt for $350 what all would I need to have it fit my v6?

I heard that you need a flange since the sizes are not the same for the V6. It's called a cobra flange.

That's all you need - swap the flange with the cobra flange (you can find it on American Muscle for about $25) and the drive shaft will mate right up.

Easy process - take off the wheels, then remove the calipers from the disc (use a coat hanger bent to hold the caliper up, no need to open it up), unbolt the shocks, the lower control arms, upper control arm, driveshaft, and pull the old one out. New one just slides right in.

There is a write up over at the Mustang Collective, but the site is down right now for maintenance.

$350 isn't a bad price for a solid 8.8 rear. Do you know how many miles are on it? Also, now wouldn't be a bad time to change the gears if needed or wanted, too. You could drop the rear off at a speed shop before it's even in the car, so you'll never be tied up!

Good luck with the install! It's not too bad, I think you'll enjoy knowing you completed the swap.

It has 35 thousand miles on it which is about 3 thousand more than what's on the car

Nice find! Just make sure you change the diff fluid at the very least. It's good to have a fresh start, plus 35k is not a bad time to change the fluid anyways.

Enjoy the strength of the 8.8!
