trans fluid? (T5)

im changing my clutch and i drained the fluid out of the trans to make it easier to deal with and i have some atf but im just curious if anybody has ever put oil in their trans bc the manual is just straight gear to gear contact an im thinking oil will be better in the long run .... hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me

From what I understand our T5's use ATF because gear oil isn't viscous enough to keep the bearings lubricated because and there's also very small passages in our manuals that gear oil won't run through quick enough and that's why ours use ATF.

I've heard that gear oil feels a lot smoother in our transmissions if you don't mind blowing out your trans every few thousand miles though haha
