Gas gauge problem

So I'm the original owner of my car and have noticed that when pumping gas in my car that I have to hold the pump completely up side down unless it will keep clicking, I have also noticed a few months ago that my gas gauge does not work. It wound always go past full or where ever it wanted. Got to the point where it only stays at a half of a tank. So the only way I know I need gas is when my gas light comes on. Has anyone else seem to had this problem?

yup, you gave a problem with the cluster gauges. you can buy new ones off ebay and install them yourself if you know some electronics or you can go to a professional with them

My gas gauge works but I have the same problem when pumping gas. What needs to be done to fix this?

nothing new at all. I just replaced my cluster in my 05 GT. my 05 sixxer just doesn't work sometimes haha and sometimes it gets stuck like yours. with my sixxer I just got used to when I get 200 miles on a tank id fill up, just like the other guys with a upside down nozzle lol its just something you should get used to unless youre gonna do a lot of work to attempt to fix it
