Rookie just joined

So I just bought this car. Not my first stang, the first one I had was a 2000 sixer which I had issues with. I ended up changing the radiator, heater hose, and Eventually head gaskets lol. Just wanted to know your input on what I should do to it ( some pics of yours would be great). The dos and donts, and your opinion on the price. I got it for $7800 with 78,000 miles and it's 2008

I love the interior. What u want to do next all depends on your opinion. I personally would probably want to put some sort of decals on it for looks. And then I would want it sounding like a beast so I would get a new exhaust. But it's all off of your opinion

I wanted to do Dual exhaust wasn't sure if it would affect gas mileage and O2 sensors. Cold air Intake of course (Don't know which one would be best all I know is it lets your engine breath better) projector headlights, conversion tai lights (what do you guys think of the Gen 5s) the new ones on American muscle with the sequential already as a feature. Deck lid panel (Don't know if I should delete the fake gas lid)? As far as more HP is boost a good option or should I just wait to upgrade to a newer GT ( which is my goal)?? Thanks again guys I'm 22 and plan on making it a hobby and new skill 🔨🔧🔩

everything you've said so far is the basics so its a great start. pypes offers a dual exhaust kit & A mid muffler setup. everyone ive read about says that the mid muffler setup sounds better

normal dual exhaust kit
Pypes V6 True Dual Exhaust Kit SFM68 (05-10 V6) - Free Shipping SFM68

mid muffler kit
Pypes MID-MUFFLER Catback with Polished Tips SFM66 (05-10 GT) - Free Shipping SFM66

personally I think the 2013 style taillights are legit. I got one of the first pairs & deleting the faux gas cap is a great option in my opinion. checkout my thread for some pics and I think theres a video of the taillights

Guinea pig for 13 style taillights 05-09

the cold air intake is debatable. OF course it should make it breathe better but if you want to tell a difference get a CAI/tuner combo like they offer on American muscle. ive yet to hear someone NOT say "its like a whole new car"

Nice stang. The interior made me take a double look. I'm jealous of the fact you got a manual trans.

I think you should look at getting a blackout taillamp panel for yours.

I wasn't sure how those were going to look on the 05-09 (I think they look terrible on the 12-14 Mustangs, but I actually like them.

And as for rims, yeah they are expensive. I'm getting a set of V6 17" wheels from a 2010 for $275. Thank you craigslist. And the best part is the fake "spinner" from my 05's wheels will fit them.

What's the spinner? The little emblem in the center?

Yeah, my 05 came with the 16" wheels and these center caps. I know there are others that have them, but personally I've only seen 5 other cars with them and they all had the FORD emblem in the middle whereas mine have the Pony.

Just as a note, these will fit your stock wheels too.

I'm obviously gonna try and talk him down, but it might be difficult as they have pretty new BFGoodrich or Bridgestones on them.

And even though that grille is a GT grille, I'm still going to go look at it. If you look at the grille opening on our V6's the GT grille tabs are there too, they just aren't drilled out.

I wouldn't have bought them. lol Not after the customer service Michelin gave me. A friend of mine has a late 60s-early 70s BMW 2002. He bought a set of Michelins for it. After about 30 miles he realized they were too wide for the BMW, so he gave them (and the receipt with warranty info) to me. Put them on my '66. After about 1300 miles, I had replaced the one on the driver rear wheel, and the 2 on the passenger side were almost bald (obviously there was some issues, especially as the car's alignment was good). Called Michelin, at first they were really nice, until they learned the tires were a gift. That's when they said "sorry our 7 year manufacturer defect warranty doesn't include you because you didn't buy the tires"... I was like WTF?!

I'm sorry with customer service that poor, don't expect me to ever buy any of your products. One of my local Ford dealers does "free wiper wednesday" (any Ford product brought in gets free wipers and a fill up of washer fluid). They use Michelin or Trico (whatever they have in stock) wipers, I told them not to bother putting them on my car.

sorry Rant over.

Welcome, I'm doing MAC axle backs with a custom H-pipe and so far so good! I will post the results when I can. I'm personally not a fan of Pypes, sounds like a ricer to me.

Sadly I can't say I have. I know critiquing them seems ignorant at this point, but all of the clips I have heard just don't sound deep enough. That being said I'm not saying if I heard them in person that I wouldn't change my mind. I can only go off of as much as I know. The other area I'm not the biggest fan of the Pypes is quality. I have read a good number of reviews saying they just aren't built as well as many of the others out there. That's my two cents.

I'll have to hear one sometime. In the meantime, I got my MAC axle backs today and will post pics and video when I get it all installed.

But hey the good thing about it is that it's YOUR car and you can have your own opinions and that's all that matters! So if you don't like them I respect that I'm just saying if you ever get the chance listen to them in person, do it you will enjoy it
