I have about a half a tank left of octane 87 unleaded fuel in my car and have the 87 tune on my car. I want to put the 93 tune on. Am I okay to put it on and then just get more gas whenever my tank runs out or should I wait.

I'd wait for the next fill up before installing a 93 tune

Burn as much 87 out of the tank as possible, then fill her up with 93. You can put 93 octane gasoline in your tank with an 87 octane tune, but not the other way around.

When you get below 1/4 of a tank, fill it up with the 93 stuff, then apply the tune. Then go and enjoy!
It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Personally, I'd empty the 87 tank, fill up with 93, empty the 93 tank, fill up again with 93 then tune for 93. Meanwhile, if you have a 91 tune that would work after the first 93 fill up. You really won't have a 93 octane tank until you overlap it with 93 octane again.

I do this just to make sure and be safe. Try the first 93 fill up and tune and if you don't hear engine knocking I suppose you're okay.
