My first exhaust setup was a magnaflow dual exhause conversion with a y splitter clamped on to the stock y. Sound was ok but I felt like it was a waste so I got an x pipe cut and clamp to push for more gains.

I currently have dual exhaust with x pipe. Like so many I am looking for a different tone. I may loose a little performance by removing the x pipe and split the 2 exhaust. It just seems to me that it would sound stronger. ...?

Pypes mid-muffler catback...hands down one of the best exhausts on the 4.0! I've had it for about a year and half now and have since added Pypes shorty headers and they made it sound even deeper and more aggressive. This system uses an x-pipe and has some rasp but when you get on the gas it sounds incredible for a v6!!

X pipe

I have seen companies that make dual exhausts from a y pipe and I think they sound alright. But you won't get the power gains that you would out of an H or X pipe. If you run just the pipes then it should be deeper but I've beer heard one
