I just got my first Mustang, what should I do?

I've never owned a sports car before and I picked up a 2006 base model and it has had a few owners before me. Mechanically it's a pretty sweet steal, I've had several different people look at it and it's it great shape.

What I want to know is some good tips. Anything I need to know or do for preventative maintenance or what are some good tips for keeping it in good condition. Any advice is much appreciated, thanks much! -Monty

MAINTENANCE

Keep Maintenance up by getting Tune-ups and Oil Changes regularly. Don't be Cheap about that stuff. I keep good Octane gas in my Car and my Wife's car (91 or 93). In those Tune-ups make sure the Fuel Filter is changed, Air Filter, Cabin Air Filter, Rear End Oil is changed at least once because you never know when or if it was ever changed. Good maintenance will keep you happy for a long time.

Ok cool, that info helps! I do my own oil but it would have probably taken me a while to have thought of that other stuff. I'll defiantly look deeper into that! Thanks!

You give any thought to Exhaust and Intake?

I'm looking in replacing the exhaust pretty soon. It's stock now which is far from impressive but it is a v6 so I'm thinking of just putting a glass pack on. I'm hoping it will satisfy me plus it looks like something I can do myself and not brake the bank

OK. Even on sixes, you can get good or messed up, so choose carefully. Go with Deep and Low sound.

Just a tip, don't run higher octane gas if your car isn't tuned for it. You'll just be wasting money, gas, and in the long run potentially be hurting your motor.
