500 Shaker Stereo

I have the standard stereo unit in my 2009 Mustang. Would it be worth my time and effort to put a Shaker 500 head unit in place of the standard unit? Does the shaker 500 unit have a built in amp? I have already replaced the stock speakers with a top shelf brand. Would it make a difference? Does it have the same connections? I want more out of my new speakers. I want to try and keep the Mustang as stock as possible.

Find a Shop that knows how to work/fix/change Ford Stereo stuff, It's not the same as other units, not simple for Weekend Audio nuts. The Amp is not built in, they are separate in the Trunk and they do not look like typical Stereo bought Amps. Save yourself the Hassle, and just find a Shop that knows.

Shaker 500 cost a pretty penny. If your going to get one and it make a difference you will also have to buy the amps for it. Shaker does have there own factory amps that go in the kick panel on the driver side for the 07. Another issue with getting a shaker radio is it does not have aftermarket RCA jacks in the back to hook up an after market radio. You can buy an adapter that hooks to the factory working harness that makes RCA jacks. Hope the information helps.

Yes but it wont make a difference since its still the same amps in the kick panel. I believe its the same pin setup in the wiring harness. If not by a universal wiring harness to hook to the factory harness
