New Or Old

Well fellow sixxers. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm caught between fully upgrading my car and just getting a new one. I have an 09 pony package. I am getting black rims and new tires soon just cause. I really actually like the 09 body style and since I have it I'm very interested in really putting money into it. It's got 78,000 miles they're all highway miles. And I do everything myself on it. I'm so stuck at what to do. Any input? Would it be worth it to just wait a couple years like til 2017 for all improvements to be finalized and road tested before jumping into that body style?

Equal value on the trade in. I wouldn't be upside down but I wouldn't get anything back. I'm at a sweet spot. If I did buy a new one it would be in April when I would save up about 12-15 grand before purchasing this time

Upgrade. I put more money (in mods) into my 06 V6 than what I purchased it for then got my 2010 GT and would never go back.

Lol really?! See I don't have any experience with a v8 (which isn't a problem I'm extremely mechanically inclined) but I've heard that v8s don't offer as much to upgrade. Correct me if I'm wrong though definetly. Just something I read on a sixxer forum a while back and they were talking about platform wise it was funner building a v6. It's not all about power for me really I enjoy the cars no matter how many pistons. All though pushing 460 horses would be quite enjoyable 😂😂

And then comes the question of go straight for the 15 or get a 14 at less cost with more money to upgrade with.. Ugh choices choices

I always thought there were more options on a v8 lol. I can see why it would be pretty fun to have a Badass built v6 that craps on rich kids with their 8's that have never popped their hood! I do know there are quite a few mod options on both the new 8's and 6's though.

Lol oh the feeling is great!! aside from a turbo and exhaust I have all bolt on upgrades and it's a quick little engine that could. once I open up her lungs with x pipe and true dual exhaust I'm sure she'd run even better. But that's just another one of those upgrades I don't really wanna do if I'm only gonna have the car for a couple more months.

I definetly love running her though the tuner and cai alone make a noticeable change in launch and I self tune mine aggressively so it's fun messing with other stangs while I'm trying to keep up lol

Yeah, it would be cool to have a v6 that walks a v8 but you'll never get that with the 4.0 v6. With full bolt-ons you'll probably barely be pushing over 200 hp. A supercharger may get you to right around 300+ but you'll have to upgrade your rear end and tackle the suspension, from what I've seen.

Way cheaper to just buy a v8 + mod it or one of those new Cyclone v6's.

I will say the only thing I miss about my old 4.0 is the sound. FRPP true dual + Borla's - damn it sounded good for a six, loud too. But that's it.

That was one reason I just picked up my v8. I found myself watching so many sound clips of exhausts looking for a nice deep one. With a v8 it really doesn't matter what you do it is going to rumble!

^As good as I made my 4.0 sound I would never go back to a v6, love v8's sound to a point it may be addictive.

Yeah don't get me wrong I know I'd never stand in the ring with 8 cylinders unless I dumped 8 grand in her. I think i might be leaning toward a gotta have it green v8 2014
