HID vs Upgraded Bulbs?

Hey Guys,

Awhile back I put on the smoked headlight tint kit from AM, but I think I should step up the bulbs, as I'm starting to notice people are not so thrilled when I'm shinning my highbeams across the highway.

Is it better to simply just upgrade the bulbs and go for some Sylvania silverstars? the Raxiom Elites? Or is it worth paying the extra couple dollars and going for a kit? If the kit is the way to go, please recommend where I should look into buying from. Looking forward to any advice.

Thanks Guys!

Nick

I bought 8k hid lights for fog lights and standard beam and can see a good 2 feet more on each side. Helps visibility as well, may piss off others coming towards you.

Just depends where a light shop is you'd want to go to professional shop who knows what they are doing.

Also depending on the light color you want with hid you have options 6k bright *** white or 8k bright with blue tint to it.

hope that helps, choose hid much brighter

Do not put an HID in a stock housing. You are correct when you stated that it pisses off other drivers on the road. Put in a good Phillips bulb, Sylvania Ultras are ok. I personally would just go with the Raxiom projectors, they look super aggressive and put out decent light, and since they are projectors if you want to upgrade to a better bulb they will work.

Thanks for the advice you guys, I agree that the Raxioms look very aggressive, and I haven't seen how the Phillips look so I will look a bit more into those.

I do agree that there is a line that is normally crossed when getting into the HID kits with fellow drivers on the road. It seems like you can always spot the drivers with HID kits from a mile away. Although my tint isn't completely blacked out, I am slightly concerned the Raxioms won't deal enough visibility.

HID vs Upgraded Bulbs?

I think you can put HID's into the Raxioms for a nice clean factory look.

you should never put HID into a stock housing it doesnt look as good and everyone will hate you. you can always retrofit and HID kit into the housing and will give you great visibility compared to halogen and/or hid on stock housing.

This was the advice I received from some of the guys on the forum. I would not recommend going with a straight HID kit in a factory housing
