Gaining power through bolt ons plus some

Just curious if it is possible to beat the 4th generation GTs with some bolt ons and a little more? I have the screaming demon coil pack and CAI. I plan on adding pypes mid muffler true dual exhaust, rebuilding the rear end with an auburn LSD and 3.73 gears, 70mm throttle body, and a spec stage 2 clutch with aluminum flywheel. I know I would need about 260hp. Is there anything else not on this list, other than FI, that would add some good hp, or torque?

Full bolt ons with a good tune will get you around 210 rwhp. Translates to around 250-260 hp at the crank. I would get 4.10's if I were you and possibly long tubes and a ported intake manifold

Can't do the long tubes. I heard the 4.10s have pretty bad gas mileage. This car us my daily driver, but I know this engine is able to really put down some power.

Do you know of a good place for the ported intake manifold?

True you'll see about 3 mpg loss at most with 4.10's. Also I would recommend getting an 8.8" rear end from a GT or 11+ v6. The auburn LSD is very expensive for what it is. Also the gear install would be easier for the shop since the rear end and differential is already out.

In terms of more hp/tq, you could always get some engine work done (cams/heads)

Yeah I put down 210rwhp with a cai, tb spacer, shorty headers, Pypes mid muffler catback, accel coil pack and a Bama 90 octane ethanol free race tune. I've added a throttle body and an o/r xpipe and some Taylor 8mm spark plugs wires since then so should be about 220rwhp now or so

I haven't found any good websites for performance cams and heads.

Do the shortly headers add low end torque or high end? In your opinion which is more important?

Shorties add more low-mid range power....and if you're wanting all out performance then there's no other choice than long tubes

Are the shorties worth it or will it still be a good gain with just the dual exhaust?

I like mine...good power and sound especially with a good dual exhaust. But if I had to do it over I would go long tubes honestly

You can't with long tubes...even with cats most likely he'll fail you due to relocating the cats
