Car mods

Ok i got a 2007 4.0 sixxer im going to be dumping about 5k in her cant decide what to do i already have the parts budgeted for a v8 swap and thats in my price range for a 4.6 3v or turbo supercharged the v6 or my last option is dont mess with the engine and swap the front end over to a 2013 front end it already needs fenders hood and front bumper so what do you guys think and please dont say front end just cause you would like to see it base it off of if it was yours lol im leaning toward front end for fuel wise i wouldnt be raising my gas prices for the car and for damn good looks

Our 6 bangers are so underpowered. I'd say supercharge it with the V3 h/o system. Not sure if that'd be in the price range though...

The last few sentences were hard to make out but 5k isn't going to get you a nice safe turbo setup that makes good power or a v8 swap. Unless your attached to the car I would save a little more a trade up to a GT if that's what you want.

You can always to basic bolt lbs (intake and axle back exhaust) and maybe a set of rims, tint, and a grill and have a nice looking car. I would just figure out what would make you happy and want you want out of a car and decide if it makes more sense to mod or to sell and buy a GT. And I'm not trying to be mean but I've just seen people drop thousands in cars only to find out they arnt happy and want to have a better platform. So ultimately they end up selling it loading a ton on the mods and buying a GT or something. And for the record I drive a v6 and love it but at the same time am not trying to make a race car or have any huge modifications planned for it. Just did the basic mods I mentioned about and am enjoying have a nice looking quick daily driver that's fun to drive.

lol sorry about that im half asleep but i can get all the parts for the v8 swap at a local junkyard for under 4k so that leaves me 1k in extra if i needed any more hoses etc etc but the turbo i was talking about was a on3 turbo kit for 1800 from latemodelresto

Turbo, but I've heard some people on hear say they've order the on3 turbo and receive months later or never! I heard the powerhouse turbo is really good too, your choice

I mean in all honestly if you can do a V8 swap for 5 k I would say go for it. But just remember it's not just the engine. You need to worry about a pcm, wiring harness, idk if it's a different transmission if it is then you'd need a new driveshaft. And then you will probable need to upgrade certain aspects of the suspension as well. That's why when doing a swap it's usually generally cheaper to find a doner car because it's never "just an engine"

Turbos are nice but then you obviously risk potential issues as far as tuning and maintenance of having forced induction of a car that didn't originally come it like and strain on certain parts. Some people don't have any issues and some people have a ton but I would definitely be prepared for some hick ups along the way.

My parts list for that car would be....
Coilovers
Staggered 19in rims
Full body kit
Obviously duel exhaust and a cai.

I mean thats a good amount of money but for any v6 below 2011 its not going to be fast. It would be quick but not fast. I would again spend the money on making it look insane.

I think the fact of owning a show car would be discounted if it was a v6...^ don't waste money on aesthetic mods if it's not fast to your liking. That's a little ricer-ish to me. if you can shell out the coin, go to powerhouse411.com and check out their turbo options.

Na those v6's can look mean. And what i mean by body kit is gt500 rear and side skirts and a cali special front. Thats the best use of $5,000 on a 4.0L

Spending 5 grand on appearance on an under performing car is ludicrous. Go performance first or not at all

05 Gt Premium Performance White, flowmaster outlaws, Jlt Series 3, Bama 91r tune

All that shouldnt cost 5k but what im saying is if you have 5k to spend on a v6 just sell the car and use the 5k to get a v8 cause its gonna cost you 5k at least to get the v6 slightly above a stock gt

Yeah simple answer to everybody with a 2010 and under v6 trying to gain power is unfortunately going to always be get a v8. 2011 and up is a different story

I'd agree that he should take the 5k and get a v8 but he said to choose only based on his options listed. Having done mostly all performance mods on my 08 I'd say go performed over aesthetic any day. Though I would like to get tinted windows ,louvers, and a pro install for the lemans stripes I got.

Go for the on3 turbo for $1800 and some forged pistons $800 and get about 15psi and an 8.8" swap $650 and beef up the tranny a little. Overhaul the suspension for a $1000 and get you a decent set of wheels and tires for $1500 from AM or something and you're set man
