3.73 gears

Thinking about putting some 3.73 gears in .I really don't want to go the t lock route expense the main reason .I don't race it nor am i interested in burning tires just looking for a little more low end power .Now i know their must be someone who just has the gears without the t lock and want to know how you like them .

Ah didn't realize he's under 200 club. You should enjoy it still. Higher gears no matter the hp is fun and torquey (;

I did the Ford Racing 3.73 gears on my 2009 Mustang with the V6 auto as well as the trac lock and I've been totally happy. I tried the Motive and Richmond from American muscle first but they whined too much. Tried 2 of each same result. AM stood by and covered all costs invloved. As soon as the Ford Racing gears went in the whine was gone.

Much quicker acceleration and only went down 2 mpg to 26 highway from 28. Well worth the minor drop.

Depending on other mods I have heard others consider upgrading to the 8.8 rear end. But to be honest I have modded my V6 heavily and I have had no issues. I think mostly because I can spin the tires very easily so there is little worry about breaking anything.

So far I have installed:

Ford Racing dual exhaust with crossover
Ford Racing CAI
American Muscle BAMA tuner with tunes for life
Ford Racing 3.73
Ford Racing Track lock diff
Explorer Express HiPo Supercharger
Shaftmasters Aluminum driveshaft

All working in harmony no issues and lots of smiles!

Get the 8.8"...with a supercharger your 7.5" is a time bomb.

Is this advice from experience or general advice 08?

All of the other xcharger guys I have seen only went up to the 8.8 when they decided to go with sticky tires. With stock tires they say it's not an issue. My tires are stock 17's and if it does break which I doubt then that will be the time for me to upgrade. Plenty of used 8.8's out there.

I'm pretty sure my 7.5 is worthless resale wise. So why not run it till it goes? I've beat on it pretty hard and it's fine so far...

I mean if you can have it break and not have to worry about how long it takes til you get an 8.8" in then yeah just wait til the 7.5" goes out. Mines my DD so I couldn't do that haha

3.73 gears

Where exactly do you get a 8.8"?
I'm considering upgrading to a supercharger.

Also is a good idea to run it with 4.10 gears or with 3.73s? I have the 4.10 that I haven't installed yet laying around.
