Rookie question....

If I get a 93 octane tune, does that require me to use only 93 rates gas or what. I have not researched this yet. I know there is a few of you who really know mustangs and cars in general. Thanks in advance.

You can only run 93 on a 93 octane tune. Nothing below that will work for your engine or you run the chance of detonation.

Just think about the question a little bit more.....

If it's called a 93 tune they probably called it that for a reason.

I have a good question. My car was tuned at one point. Is there any way to tell if it is still tuned or not?

Did you tune it or did the previous owner tune it?

Previous owner did. The guy I bought it from said nothing about it so I don't know. It has a jlt intake and a 70 mm throttle body so I'd assume its running a tune

It might not have a tune honestly even if the previous owner said it did.

JLT features a larger diameter inlet tube and thus requires an ECU recalibration to function and allow the MAF to communicate with the ECU properly.

Rookie question....

I guess I would say just because a tune is required for those parts doesn't necessarily mean the previous owner actually took that step. He could have just thrown parts at it and hoped for the best. A dealer could probably tell you if the ECM has been flashed and possibly what is still loaded.

I got a laugh out of this. Black essentially answered your (OP's) question with "Because AM has videos, that's why JLT requires a tune."

I'm not like that bro, but some of the questions you were asking are on the web page before you order the product.

There are some people that have been what you would call rude on here, I would call it direct. When you ask this type of question, and I'm not trying to be an *** but it's hard to answer this kind of question without coming off like an ***. You need to just shake it off. I have never seen so many people getting their feelings hurt than on this forum lately.

No matter what any vendors say, that still doesn't answer the question specific to your car as to whether it actually has a tune, and what kind of a tune. If you really want to know for sure, someone needs to read your computer. I think everyone is missing that point because they are too busy arguing.
