So my stock shifter is messed up, in more ways than one. The indicator strip that so commonly breaks, is of course broken.
Sometimes it has trouble moving out of park and into gear.
I recently lost the screw that holds the t-handle down as well so I've been looking at other options. So far I've found these options.
From my understanding this acts just like a stock shifter, with a throwback feel to it. Looks more like an old school shifter, and I assume feels more solid in your hand. Also this shift boot is a plus.
+ sick speed shift kit
Apparently these two in conjunction, the sickspeed shift kit allows you to press the shift knob down, rather than push a button in on the side to change gears. Along with the gizmo kit that changes the shift pattern, it allows you to push the shift knob down the move into one gear, let the knob up to slide into the next gear, and push down again, thus removing the ability to skip a gear, and adding a slightly more manual feel to it (obviously there's no replacement for a manual, but this can make it feel more interactive).
And finally the TCI ratchet shifter most of us are familiar with. Highest cost, but possibly the coolest one. Back to the old school slapstick feel.
Does anybody know of any other styles or types? Anybody done anything cool with their automatic shifter?
