Long tube headers or short tube headers ?

I was wondering what is the best way to go with a 4.0 L v6. I want to get a deep muscle v8 sound and do not want it to be too high pitch or drony. What is the best way to go long tube or shortys?

Longtubes and an H-pipe IMO but youtube it or find local sixxers to see what their exhaust notes sound like

Yeah I've got shorties and an O/R x right now and it's SUPER raspy. It sounds mean and good but it's not kidding anybody that it's a V6 haha

Either way you go get an h pipe with the headers if you want a deeper sound

1. Don't buy exhaust to try and make it sound like a v8. You will be disappointed as pipes cannot create the sound of additional cylinders.
2. Longtube headers generally out flow shorty headers assuming you get a proper tune to account for the additional flow

I think that would sound good! If I weren't in California I'd want to run a similar set up with Mac mufflers. One can dream. When do you think you'll get it done?
