My friend has longtubes, o/r x, flowmaster outlaws, cai, and dyno tuned he makes 5rwhp more than a guy in my group who has all that + a boss intake, throttle body, and bama tune. Both cars are 2013 base manual gts

Honestly bama seems alright untill you actually get a real dyno tune, every car is a little bit different and you wont get as good of a tune in the mail as you would with a profesional tuning it for your specific car

Honestly a dyno tune will not make a difference over an email tune with our 4.0's. Forced induction is a different story anyway. About to order a tune from MPT this week

Ive been screwed by bama, about 5 of my friends have been screwed by bama, and majority of the people i meet at car shows had bama and now have other tunes. I think you can pick up an sct tuner and sve tunes for the same price and i havent heard anybody complain about them

Bama is a great choice for beginner or moderate performance enthusiasts. Someone looking to enhance their ponies performance on the street or track. If you are someone with a bunch of bolt on mods, Bama is a home run. I personally have never had issues with Bama tunes.

I suspect this is true, although I am at the trigger point for BAMA right now. But, the price point is better, I get free tunes when I do future mods, and it's a daily driver. And their customer service is legendary, and I'm big on that. I've encountered few posts that malign anything specific about Bama tunes, other than to point out that there may be better performing tunes out there.

... and I'll bet there are many folks who cut their teeth on a V6 and then moved up to a V8. Does that mean the V6 is a crappy engine? I sure hope not....

I think BAMA is a great tune service for what they do. But to be honest, it does make a lot of sense that a dyno tune will be the best for the car. But I think that would be best once you really think your done with your performance upgrades. Until i'm done buying all my performance mods, I would just buy the BAMA so every upgrade isn't an extra $100 or more.

Question about the sct tuner... there is no option for k&n intake on there. Can I substitute it for another intake on the list?

Sure seems like you should be able to if you could find one that was close at least that's what I thought. I tried that and no it did not work for me. I did not try all of them but did not have luck with the ones I chose. Has to do with how much air is going past the mass airflow sensor.
