Upgrade or not?

I have a 2005 v6 convertible mustang. It's my first car. I was just wondering is it worth it to put money into it and try to squeeze as much power as I can out of its v6 engine or should I leave it as is and eventually get a GT?

I had a 09 4.0 first mustang i enjoyed it but as far as power goes only so much you can do to it as far as bolt ons and you will only be pushing 225 235 hp tops ..Have you considered a 2011 2014 v6? i traded mine for a 2012 it's like day and night compared to a 4.0 as far as power goes 305 vs 210 prices are good on these car plus insurance can't beat it

Yeah, but this car was just a birthday present for my 17th birthday. I'm planning on eventually getting a GT. My v6 is only a single exhaust. Is it worth it to upgrade to a dual?

Depends on how long eventually is. If you are going to wait a few years then I would say go for it and have fun with the car you have. If within the next year or year and a half you plan to do the trade then I would say no. I had an 09 v6 before i traded up to a 14 v6 and I dont regret putting money into that car and working on it. If you aren't going to keep it too long I would just stick to light modding or getting some used parts for it.

I would say add exhaust for sound or some rims, louvers, etc to help the appearance but I wouldn't try and get much more power out of the car if you plan to upgrade in the next few years

I found a gt take off muffler on bay for like 24.00 didn't go the dual route but it did sound nice also got a few more hp with it also not sure if you have the base model i got some gt sway bars for it and made a big difference in how it handled also for cheap so you dont need alot of money to mod them and make for a nice ride.
