Belt squeal sound while shifting
I have a manual transmission. There was a slight noise that went away if I just touched my foot to the clutch. But today, an awful and very loud squeal, like a belt gone bad, started...but only when I press it release my clutch and at idle. It is not making a whining or clicking...its a very loud squeal sound. From research, it seems like many point to TOB and maybe pilot bearing. How to I know for sure (vs a belt) and on a limited budget, can I replace just these (although many say replace with clutch kit while you're in there)?
