Exhaust help!

Hello my fellow Mustang owners, i have a 2005 mustang v6 4.0 and i am looking into changing the stock exhaust. I want something that sounds aggressive but not too loud. I also dont want it to sound like a ricer. Can anyone please recommend a good exhaust. Thanks

Best bet is to find a used Stock 05-09 GT exhaust setup it's what I have and IMO it's perfect

You wouldnt have to get a gt rear bumper, you can just cut out a spot for it on the v6 one

I just ordered a Pypes street-pro axle-back exhaust (05-10 V6) today for my 2010 V6. Hoping it will give my exhaust a heavier sound plus a slight HP boost.

Congrats on that. Definitely a more aggressive sound, maybe a slight difference in Performance. Don't look for HP difference though. Maybe with a Catback setup you might get a slight HP difference. Look more for Performance rather than HP.

Thanks! Yea I'm not expecting a major HP gain, but I'll take what I can get

Did you change your exhaust to dual exhaust? Headers will definitely give you more power too; I have a 2011 and that was the number one power adder, even better than a tuner. The sound improvement was great too

Nah it's just the single exhaust. I want to convert to dual in the future, but right now it's out of my budget range unfortunately. The tuner is also on my build list. And a CAI as well

Put off the tuner and CAI and focus on dual exhaust and headers. Think of your engine as a big air pump, the better it breathes the faster it goes. Don't waste your money on a CAI, I don't think there's any documented evidence that those things really improve performance. My car came with one when I bought but I'd sure love to try a stock one to see if it felt any different. I doubt it would

If you get someone that knows how to do a cutout it looks perfectly normal. Though it does seem like it needs some trim. Hope you get the sound your looking for.
