2010 Mustang front end swap (V6 to GT)

I'd like to swap my front end from the base V6 to a GT one. I asked my body shop guy to do, but he doesn't like the idea. He said he called his "Ford guy" who wasn't sure which brackets to get/switch.

From this American Muscle article I was under the impression that a stock GT bumper would just bolt on to the V6 frame.

Has anyone done this for a 2010 V6? Was there any hassle? What parts did you end up using/ordering?

Thanks.

i did this on a 07, what i found was the bumper bolted right on,not one problem the under cushion shares the same part number with the gt. the v6 fog lamps if you have them, use a adapter wire/plug/extender that gets removed the main harness end pops right onto the stronger gt fog lamp bulb, you will have to get the gt forward wheel well liner sections as those are not the same
the rear bumper also bolts right on as will the gt spoiler
at the time i did mine newtakeoff.com was selling painted kits so i lucked out and got one allready my color and last i looked they still had a few kits left in red

ps
the 10 up have a different bumper but everything looks like the gt will bolt right up just like on the 05 to 09
the body shells are still the same i fell you shouldn't have any major issues.

I have a street scene bumper on my 2010 and all I had to do was buy a Gt grille. So I'm pretty sure all you would have to do is buy a Gt grille and you will be good.Click image for larger version

It looks like your grille came with the grille surround, though. That is, stock GT grille is smaller, and requires grille surround, as well.

The GT bumper will line up perfectly with the V6. I did it to mine. I bought a 10-12 GT bumper from ebay and had it painted to match my car then bought the saleen grill so I wouldn't need a grill surround and it matched up perfectly and was way worth the money for a better looking front end. You wouldn't need to take it to a shop it is very easy to do.
